Hannah worked with me on the Hack Access Hackathon 2020 and she provided an invaluable service by way of her personal experience of the accessibility problems that Hack Access was seeking to solve and the knowledge she has about event organisation and the difficulty organisers experience in finding reliable information on both the sensory and physical aspects of accessibility.
She became an integral part of the team and was a pleasure to work with. She is both understanding about the difficulties event organisers experience in finding accessible venues but gently pushes us to consider access from an array of perspectives and to go as far as we can to ensure our events are as accessible as they can be.
She is flexible and adaptive; able to think on her feet and respond accordingly to any gaps during the event itself making sure signage and wayfinding are clear and that event attendees - those with and without a disability - are made aware of information pertaining to accessibility and can engage and mix comfortably in and at the event.
Hannah is hardworking and committed to access and inclusion but works with as opposed to against event organisers so that it is a team approach to the management of the event which makes for a congenial working relationship.
